Summary of Programs
The Wells Fargo Center for the Arts is vastly unique in the quantity, quality and variety of performance it presents. World-class artists and headline entertainers of nearly every genre are featured including rock, pop, country, classical, folk, roots, jazz, chamber music, dance, theater, comedy, literary and speaker events, and more. Together with its resident companies, the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts provides more than 100 annual performances and currently ranks among the top five performing arts presenters in California and among the top 50 in the nation.
The Wells Fargo Center for the Arts’ Education Program is one of the state's largest arts education programs serving nearly 30,000 students, parents and teachers annually. By presenting more than two dozen school shows each year, we make it possible for thousands of students to experience the excitement and enrichment of live theater - often for the very first time! To deepen the educational experience, we present a series of dynamic, hands-on workshops. These workshops help students to comprehend, retain and learn more effectively by using music, theater, dance and visual art to underscore lessons in other core subjects, such as math, science and social studies. We also reach out to the community by providing pre and post-workshop classroom visits as well as special curriculum materials for teachers. Our workshops, special curriculum materials, and corresponding classroom visits always align with state teaching standards..
The Wells Fargo Center for the Arts’ Family Series provides the excitement and enrichment of live theater for children. With performances designed for children ages 3-12 and their families, the series serves to spark the imagination and delight the senses. Art Table Fun before each Family Show also allows parents and grandparents to bond with their children while making art together. More than 11,000 people enjoy our family performances annually.
ArtReach
This program provides more than $110,000 in free and reduced-price tickets annually to low-income residents living in the North Bay. Through ArtReach, hundreds of students have the opportunity to experience our school shows and dynamic hands-on workshops along with the rest of their classmates. By working with local service providers, such as the operators of women's shelters and group homes, ArtReach places free tickets into the hands of North Bay residents who otherwise could not afford to participate in the enrichment of the arts
Although separate entities, the
following fine artistic companies call the Wells Fargo Center for
the Arts home: Santa Rosa Symphony, Santa Rosa Concert Association,
and Healdsburg Guitar Festival. These companies offer cultural
programs, which the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts supports with
advertising and promotion, box office services, priority use of
the facility, technical support, and thousands of dollars in subsidized
rents. |
