Dolly Parton Performance Sells Out in Record Time
Santa Rosa, CA (December 8, 2006) - Only two hours after tickets
went on sale to the public, the upcoming Valentine's Day performance
of Dolly Parton presented by the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts
at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds sold out. The Arts Center 's
Box Office reached capacity seating for the 3,000 seat Grace
Pavilion at just before 2:00 p.m. today.
"It's a great feeling of accomplishment," said Director of Programming
Rick Bartalini . "This is the largest one-day show we've ever
presented. With twice the seating capacity as our main theater,
we had a total of 3,000 seats available. To sell-out within just
two hours feels like a huge show of support from Sonoma County
."
The Arts Center opened sales to the general public today at
noon. By early this morning a crowd of anxious Dolly Parton fans
had gathered outside the Center's Box Office hoping to get the
best choice of seats available. The Arts Center provided chairs,
as well as donuts and coffee for those who waited several hours
in the cold.
The February 14 th Dolly Parton performance will feature an
arena-sized stage production with a set that includes two full
staircases, a hydraulic lift, and a quick change room. The Arts
Center decided to present the show at the Sonoma County fairgrounds
after discovering that the stage production was too big to fit
in the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts' main theater. Parton's
Sonoma County performance will be one of only six shows on her
U.S. tour.
A very limited number of additional tickets for the February
14, 2007 performance may become available closer to the show
date. Patrons are encouraged to check back regularly by
visiting the Arts Center online at www.wellsfargocenterarts.com or
calling the Box Office at 707-546-3600.
