One of Music's Hottest Divas Presents Three Decades
of Hits June 29
at Santa Rosa's Wells Fargo Center for the Arts
Santa Rosa, CA - An artist who once defined the '70s pop music generation
as the "Queen of Disco," Donna Summer is coming to Santa Rosa's Wells Fargo
Center for the Arts as part of her first concert tour in more than five years.
The tour also marks the first time in decades that Summer will perform many
of her classic hits, such as "Love to Love You Baby." Summer has become
one of the world's leading singers and songwriters. The career of the
five-time Grammy-winner spans a range of musical genres from R&B and
rock to inspirational and dance.
With songs such as "Love to Love You Baby," "Bad Girls," "Hot Stuff," "Last
Dance," and "She Works Hard For The Money," Donna Summer has earned five
Grammy Awards, three consecutive number one Platinum albums (she is the only
artist, male or female ever to accomplish this), eleven Gold albums, four
number one singles, two platinum singles, and 12 gold singles.
In addition to her recording and performing career, Donna Summer is an accomplished
visual artist whose work has been shown at exhibitions and galleries in every
major U.S. city and in Japan in a special exhibition sponsored by Steven
Spielberg.
In 2003, Random House published her first book, Ordinary Girl,
co-authored with Marc Eliot. Also that year Universal released The Journey containing
all the hits as well as three new songs. Donna Summer is a consummate artist
and songwriter with a vocal range exceeded only by her diverse talents in
musical and other artistic genres.
