Santa Rosa, CA (July 9, 2007) - Baby boomers and retro lovers
are in for an electrifying '80s-style blast to the past as superstar
rocker Rick Springfield takes the stage for the first time ever
at Santa Rosa's Wells Fargo Center for the Arts. The concert, slated
for August 4th at 8pm, will feature Springfield whipping through
a 90-minute set of his best-known songs, such as "Affair of the
Heart," "I've Done Everything for You," "Don't Talk to Strangers," "Human
Touch," and of course "Jessie's Girl," for which he won a Grammy
for best rock vocal in the early 1980s.
Springfield, who played Dr. Noah Drake on the popular daytime
soap opera General Hospital beginning in 1981, continues
to perform music before packed crowds across the country and also
recently returned to the set of General Hospital after
a 22-year hiatus.
The '80s rocker has withstood the test of time far better than
most critics would ever have imagined, writing and performing some
of the best-crafted power pop of the past 30 years. He's sold over
19 million records while charting a whopping 17 Top 40 hits to
date.
Having performed for millions of fans over the last three decades,
